Buy Olympic Gear Items
66Where to buy Olympic gear, without ever attending the Olympics
If you can't go to the Olympic games, you can still buy Olympic gear. Amazon is one place I've found to find a variety of Olympic merchandise, memorabilia, and souvenirs. Olympic souvenirs are interesting for the collector, and can be a great investment.
With a wide variety of merchandise, from the mundane to the extravagant, collecting Olympic memorabilia is possible for all budgets. Emily Cross, a silver-medalist from the US fencing team, confided that she brought back gold foil wrapped Olympic condoms from China as a souvenir. It's kind of funny, but just an example that a souvenir doesn't have to be expensive.
In the host country that holds the Olympics, it's sort of Olympic mania where even the most seemingly insignificant items are packaged to celebrate the event. You can buy Olympic gear starting at only a few dollars on Amazon.
Vancouver 2010 Olympics Sumi
Sumi is a mascot for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics, and is known as the animal guardian spirit. Supposedly, he lives in the mountains of British Columbia. I'm not so sure about that, but he is a cute little thing.

Olympic postage stamps are an ever popular collectors item. If you're looking to buy Olympic gear, you can find real postage stamps from around the world intended to commemorate the Olympics. Stamp collectors can easily find Olympic postage stamps from the United States, Russia, Egypt, Tokyo, Poland, Vancouver, Mexico, Italy, and Greece.
Olympic T-Shirts
If you're a t-shirt enthusiast, you can find new and vintage Olympic t-shirts. Of course, these come from a wide variety of countries and are printed with various designs. You can buy Olympic gear with your favorite athletes name, team, and number. Alternatively, there are some t-shirts with only the Olympic logo, country, and year. You can find a variety of sizes for babies, kids, women, and men.
Olympic DVD's
If you can't go to the Olympics, why not watch it on DVD? You can get it all on tape, from the opening ceremony, to the athletic events. Watch the figure skating competition, hockey, highlights of the games, gymnastics, all from the comfort of your living room. My personal favorite will always be the figure skating, as it's so beautiful and graceful. If you buy Olympic gear, don't forget the DVD's (and popcorn, of course).
The meaning of the Olympic symbols
The modern day Olympics have a rich history, including the symbol that began in 1914. The five Olympic rings symbolizes the unity of the five inhabited continents, and are blue, yellow, black, green, and red.
