This may be morbid, but I've decided to create a Hub Page dedicated to celebrity cancer deaths. To start with, I would like to say that I don't feel that the death of a celebrity is any more significant than any one else. However, many of these celebrities have been a pleasant part of my life. I'm featuring them here on the Celebrity Cancer Deaths Hub Page, and hope you'll scroll down to find your favorites. The celebrities that we have lost to cancer are Farrah Fawcett, Eartha Kitt, Peter Jennings, Paul Newman, Patrick Swayze, Sydney Pollack, Michael Crichton, Bob Denver, Ted Kennedy, Jerry Orbach, Anne Bancroft, William Rehnquist, and Tony Snow.
I realize of course, that not all of these are celebrities -- some are politicians. Regardless, I still wanted to put Ted Kennedy on here. If you would like me to add more, just suggest in the comment box, and I'll do it! Now, on with the list of celebrity cancer deaths...
Farrah Fawcett
Though Farrah Fawcett was in a wide variety of movies, I suppose I remember her most for Charlie's Angels. She found out she had anal cancer in 2006, and passed away on June 25, 2009.
Eartha Kitt
Eartha Kitt was a beautiful woman. She was an actress, singer, and cabaret star. She died on Christmas Day, 2008 from colon cancer. Eartha Kitt was also well known for standing up for homosexual rights.
Peter Jennings
It's impossible to hear the words, "ABC's World News Tonight" without thinking of Peter Jennings. On August 7, 2005 Jennings died of lung cancer. He was well loved by all. Even President Bush stopped to give his statements of condolences.
Paul Newman
Paul Newman was of course a great actor, but was known well for his healthy line of food. He struggled with lung cancer, and passed away on September 26, 2008.
Patrick Swayze
I've had the time of my life, no I've never felt this way before, yes, I do...and I owe it all to you! OK, I can't think of Patrick Swayze without that song coming to mind. Unfortunately, Patrick left us on September 14, 2009 from pancreatic cancer.
Sydney Pollack
Sydney Pollack was a film director, producer and actor. He passed away from stomach cancer on May 25, 2008.
Michael Crichton
Author, producer, director, screenwriter who died on November 4, 2008 from throat cancer.
Bob Denver
Do you remember Gilligan's Island? I used to be addicted to that show. Of course, Bob Denver played the part of Gilligan. He died on September 2, 2005 from throat cancer.
Ted Kennedy
Everyone knows Ted Kennedy,the United States Senator from Massachusetts. I think one thing I always really liked about him is the fact that he loved animals. Kennedy fought brain cancer, until he died August 25, 2009.
Jerry Orbach
Jerry Orbach was an excellent actor, who unfortunately, found out he had cancer, and began treatment for prostate cancer in 2004. He passed away on December 28, 2004. An interesting story about him is that he had made the decision to have his eyes donated upon his death. At that time, two individuals with sight problems each received an eye.
Anne Bancroft
Anne Bancroft was a talented actress in numerous major movies. She lost her struggle on June 6, 2005 when she passed away from uterine cancer.
William Rehnquist
William Rehnquist was Chief Justice of the United States for 19 years. He was diagnosed with anaplastic thyroid cancer in 2004, and ended up succumbing to the disease September 3, 2005.
Tony Snow
Tony Snow's last position held was as the White House Press Secretary. During his lifetime he worked frequently as a journalist, and was working for FOX news in 2005 when he began his battle with colon cancer. The colon cancer spread to his liver and he passed away on July 12, 2008.

I have stumbled upon your recent article about celebrities who have died of cancer.
The closing statements offered to dig deeper into this category and expand the list if requested.
I do not know what your motivation for this article is but I too have comprised a list of such occurrences for my own reasons which I would like to share with you.
I retired from Bio-medical cancer research decades ago for reasons that are very relevant to addressing the causes of our present epidemic.
I retired from conventional research because, by design, I recognized the futility of continuing on with conventional mindset and conventional "cancer mythology".
The few statements i am about to make will no doubt raise more questions and I do not presume that this brief introduction to the subject provides any answers. But i assure you, there are answers. The problem is that it takes a total reeducation from conventional cancer mythology before you will be able to grasp the answers.
I have comprised an extensive file on what i call "rich and famous cancer victims". It was very easy to find candidates.
The main reason for my documentation is to demonstrate that failure to cure cancer has nothing to do with money, medical attention or available (conventional) resources... Every one on my list, and yours had unrestricted access to the best and the brightest in the conventional profession of oncology. And they died anyway.
My point is that this list sheds light, at least, and at best PROVES that conventional medical technology is far from adept at curing cancer. In fact...the word 'cure' and the word 'heal' do not even appear on any documents from doctors or insurance companies. The only words that appear in places where 'cure' or 'heal' would be desired are the words 'treatment' and 'procedure'.............all at very hefty (and profitable) costs.
The deeper and more profound point of this email is to say that there is a near criminal interference and disparagement by the medical/industrial complex to discourage anyone from seeking radical alternatives to the marginally conventional 'treatments' and 'procedures'.
The medical/industrial complex includes (from the bottom upwards)
case workers
receptionists
nurses
doctors
hospitals
government 'health and welfare' agencies
government executive, legislative and judicial (fact: parents refusing to subject children to radiation/chemo/surgery will be arrested and children taken 'protective' custody and forced to receive treatment)
insurance corporations
pharmaceutical corporations
medical paraphernalia manufacturers ie mri and catscan equipment etc
I am just getting started with this subject. The point of my concern is not to bash the establishment but to promote the idea that equal (if not greater) economic support should be channeled into alternative approaches to healing cancer. NOT 'medical alternatives' but rather Alternatives to Medical procedures and treatments....and there are many.
Even though it is a pioneering field, the investigation of procedures and philosophies that do not involve drugs, radiation or surgery is valuable by default since the conventional is obviously not working. I say it is obvious even though the media and medical/industrial complex does not confess this truth and people do not want to hear this truth. It is mass hysteria in the form of denial. It is denial for the sake of maintaining hope.
I would like to invite you to allow me to enumerate how and why the Medical/Industrial Complex created the myth about cancer that is promoting the epidemic of cancer. And I would like to propose a solution. I fully expect that you will be skeptical. And well you should be. But....even through the filter of your skepticism i am confident that you may...and probably will recognize the logic and wisdom to my perception and the conclusions that it leads to.
